iPhone USB 3.2 Gen 2, Engineered Flaw

I’ve been using the iPhone 15 Pro for the past 1 year and only recently it got to my attention that, I gotta give the ‘revolutionary’ innovation that Apple shipped with this Pro phone, USB 3.2 Gen 2. All started when I tuned into LTT Wan Show when Linus talking about getting the normal iPhone 16 because he don’t give a damn about the higher speed the Pro has to offer. Reason? When is the last time you really do file transfer from iPhone to PC/Mac? And if you talking about the Pros doing ProRes video, usually it’s recorded straight from iPhone to fast external SSD. And then they will just attach the storage to their workstation. It’s very normal process, and only a handful of people do connect the phone directly to PC, just to do a full backup because they ran out of storage in iCloud or just for convenience pusposes, backup and restore locally. ...

A Sus Tuf

Just over a week ago I bought myself a new router. The plan was, get a good mesh capable but powered by a solid operating system. I came across with many good options especially those TP-LINK Deco lineup. But.. but.. I had enough with TP-LINK. They usually put many routers out of life in just around 2 years. When you get invested into network equipments, you want it to last quite a long time. Sadly, not with them. ...

Penat

Entahlah. Penat. Sebab Rafizi Ramli punya formula. Banyak betul nak kena buat untuk local Oil Co(s) untuk support multi-tiered subsidy (pelbagai sektor) dan untuk rakyat. Betul last minute punya policy, 2 syarikat minyak tempatan nak kena update dalam masa sebulan. Entahlah malas nak sebut benda2 NDA ni. Aku buat jelah. Exhausted. Sampai tak perasan next week dah raya. Aku baru apply cuti raya T_T Translate pi english sendiri. Entri kali ini just nak lepaskan kemarahan je. ...

Hello Baby World

Another day another hello world. This time around it’s about time to do knowledge transfer to my baby. That’s right. Been busy for the past few months settling down with my wife’s pregnancy, preparing for all the necessary items for the baby (some sort of env preparation, this time it is environment.prod.ts), and finally my baby herself. Yeah, she’s finally out and ready to say hello world. Fatherhood is a bit challenging especially when I’m tied with a lot of government-related policy changes that are so big, affecting all of my clients and I have around 7 people under me that I need to handle at work. With that, I’m unable to commit much to father-baby bonding that much and I had to leave it to my wife, especially at night time when she needed to be fed and some warm snuggle. ...

Cloudflare R2ez4me

Just another test of technology. Cloudflare R2. Something that most cloud developers enjoy, a place to store objects and wow S3 was revolutionary. And still is. Just that, price point is not that attractive for a small time junkie dev. So I got involved in something peculiar around 4 years ago where Clouddlare and Backblaze announce something great. Object storage, traffic layer via Cloudflare CDN equals to free traffic forever (as long as you did not clear the cache so that Cloudflare dont have to pull again from real Blackblaze endpoint). I got my hands into writing something amazing. In Node.Js, a method to upload and return the object url that already served under my domain in Cloudflare. Now, this is a bit harder to setup since you have a lot of things to configure on Cloudflare and their UI is not the best in the world. But hey, it works. So after doing that, I feel I wanted more and that’s when I started to write a plugin for Ghost Blog. ...
